The strategy was 1) cable tv spreads the Christian message, and 2) personal contacts help make it believable.  The writer read in the areas of cable technology, communications, and evangelism.  Other research included interviews and workshops at a video conference.  Measuring the response of the viewers to the cable program was difficult. Laypersons were not mobilized sufficiently.  No known commitment to Christ resulted. The written project offers a theological reflection on these activities. The writer evaluates materials recommended by James Kennedy's Evangelism Explosion, Campus Crusade for Christ, American Baptists, Southern Baptists, United Methodists, and those recommended by the three major Lutheran bodies.  He demonstrates that many of the materials recommended by non-Lutherans are consistent with the teachings of the confessions while some of the 'Lutheran' materials are not.
