The method of study included research, a five-week study curriculum and three questionnaires.  The goals of the curriculum led to the consideration of a Unitarian Universalist theology of liberation (and other meaningful insights), but not enough time was allotted to measure motivation for church outreach.  The challenge facing liberal religion in an age of 'theology from below' is addressed by this study. The fifty fastest growing congregations were examined.  The difference between the attendence-to-baptized ratios for larger and smaller churches was .8 percent: 30.6 percent and 31.4 percent, respectively.  There is no real difference in participation based on size.  Approximately 32 percent of the baptized belong to the 10 percent of churches which are larger.  41 of the 50 fastest growing churches were larger churches with multiple staffs. The narrative approach to evangelism utilized an inductive presentation of scriptural and non-scriptural stories to prompt multi-dimensional conversion among hearers.  A twelve-member experimental group participated in training in the fall of 1989.  A twelve-member control group did not participate.  Pretest and posttest surveys and other instruments were used to evaluate the effects of training. Participants increased their understanding of the gospel as narrative and multi-dimensional conversion. The project utilized a training seminar and an evalution of the program based upon how it effected the participants.  A pretest and posttest questionnaire sought to measure changes in attitudes and motivation toward relational evangelism. A final questionnaire was administered to evaluate the seminar.  Four weeks later participants were interviewed to discover influences of the training.  Seven sessions dealt with discovering, developing, and renewing relationships. Two final sessions focused on methods of Gospel sharing. The participants displayed improved attitudes toward personal evangelism and a marked increase in their level of involvement. The pretest/posttest method measured the educational effectiveness of a preaching and teaching series.  The committee process developed and proposed for adoption a preconversion ministry.  Interviews with committee members provided subjective analysis of the entire project.  The goals were accomplished.
