Defining 'relational' evangelism as sharing a message with persons in established personal relationships, the project investigates the biblical and historical foundations for such an approach, as well as the contemporary sociological factors that make it necessary. This project prepared a selected group of native believers to present a positive Christian witness in the context of native culture. Through participation in a seminar members of the group grew in their understanding of Christianity and culture. They acquired skills necessary to witness to nonreceptive and hostile people. The method was to survey 100 indivduals using the Lawrence Image of God Inventory.  The two targeted groups were blacks born in America and blacks born in the West Indies.  The results of this study showed young people between the ages of 11 and 19 more accepting to the gospel message, scoring highest on the Presence and Acceptance scales.  It also showed baby boomers in their 40s accepting when given a chance to discuss and dialog.
