The Lord's Prayer was used as a model of relationship, type order and content to teach prayer.  A series of eight sermons on the Lord's Prayer was developed and delivered over a period of Sundays in January 1984. Weekly feedback sessions were used to determine the hearers' understanding of the Lord's Prayer and the resulting effect on their prayer life. The research was done through the examination of books which have been written on the subject. An exegetical study of certain selected biblical passages dealing with the matter of the praise of God was also included in the research.  The amount of knowledge concerning the subject was determined by the use of a pre-test and post-test designed by the author.  A series of eleven sermons were preached in order to increase the knowledge of the church members. A practical combination of lectures, small group dialogue, individual message development sessions, and case studies are featured.  The central core of the seminar is an adaptable thirteen-step process that takes the attenders through the central elements of biblical exposition.  It is followed by a post-seminar evaluation of a sermon presented in the participants' churches.
