The goal is to provide a theological and practical curriculum to help current or future Pentecostal ministers prepare expository sermons. This project will argue that there are three components to preparing an effective expository sermon. These components are the preacher, the audience, and the message. Pentecostal preachers need to look at each of these components in order to prepare an effective expository sermon. Bible application is prescriptive. What happens when the preacher faces a multiethnic audience? How can the preacher communicate the truth of scripture, if the audience doesn't share the common characteristics that facilitate communication and understanding? The project director read various resources concerning expository preaching and public speaking to identify key skills necessary for expository preaching. The identified skills were evaluated by an expert in the field of expository preaching. After the preaching skills were identified, the project director developed a series of sermons on biblical stewardship incorporating research conducted on stewardship. The project director preached the series of sermons utilizing the identified expository preaching skills. The project director solicited feedback from a selected group of members of Ellaville Baptist Church via a sermon feedback form.
