What constitutes a healthy small group? In what way does authentic Christian community contribute to spiritual renewal and life-transformation? The author has attempted to give voice to the necessary ingredients that answer these concerns. This project consisted of developing six lessons on prayer principles that would help train church members to grow in praying through growth barriers. Surveys were taken, classes were held and follow-up steps were implemented to pray through growth barriers. The training includes five instructional sessions meeting for consecutive weeks.  The first session will focus on fathers leading a spiritual legacy.  The other four sessions will concentrate on four roles of a father.  These roles are the father as a blesser, a priest, a teacher, and a disciple maker. The study course included five instructional sessions scheduled one week apart, with workbook assignments for participants to complete between each teaching session.  The goal of this course was to teach participants the biblical principles which lead to spiritual growth, as well as scriptural standards by which to evaluate key aspects of their lives.  Learners then moved from self-evaluation to setting written goals that drew them closer to God's standard for their lives.  Finally, participants designed a customized spiritual growth strategy, including specific action steps to reach their goals.
