Its aim is to help the spiritually curious, newcomers, and regular church attenders develop a more informed understanding of the Christian faith, particularly through the lens of the Reformed Church in America (RCA). My research for this paper began at Marble Collegiate Church (RCA) in Manhattan—a large, urban church context. In the summer of 2011, I began my ministry as a solo pastor at The Community Reformed Church (CRC) at Manhasset, NY, a small, suburban congregation just outside of New York City. The Explorer’s Handbook and formative process that comprise my doctoral work both emerge from and serve both types of settings. This research evaluated their current theological and philosophical understanding and their methodological practices of disciplemaking. Qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys were utilized to evaluate their practices of disciplemaking. The development of a theological framework and the literature reviews of current disciplemaking practices led to the qualitative interview and qualitative questions. The purpose of this project was to enhance the basic knowledge of the Bible and facilitate the spiritual growth of new believers through implementing a narrative Bible Study program at Calvary Korean Baptist Church in Los Gatos, California.  The ten-session course, designed and led by the project director, helped the participants gain an understanding of the main biblical principles. The survey was conducted before and after the training program among 30 new church members and 30 lay leaders. Seven congregants participated in a six-week Bible study on God's will for divine health with a focus on God's goodness. Each session included prayer, worship, lecture, discussion, and reflective journaling. Interviews, surveys, field notes, and journaling validated the qualitative case studies. Results indicate obstacles were identified, and four out of six participants that identified obstacles chose to begin the process of overcoming those obstacles. Scripture, church history, and liturgical traditions document the primacy of parental involvement. Parents, however, reveal confusion and discomfort with mentoring roles. This thesis project created a survey to examine experiences of Episcopal Church school parents whose children were involved in Communion preparation. The thesis project revealed an improved level of parental comfort having had the opportunity o reflect and reclaim their faith development. Participants in the eight-week study used material from Henry and Richard Blackaby's Spiritual leadership: moving people on to God's agenda. A pre and post study survey developed datas for comparison. The data indicated the participants' needs to cross generational lines to aid in their spiritual transformation. A God-centeredness curriculum was designed and implemented in a local church context. The project involved a select group in a deepening process of self-exploration, meditation on God's Word, and contemplative commitment to God's way.
