The results  led to lowered anxiety and better functionality in almost every aspect of wounded ministers' lives, thus producing a greater emotional maturity. The research described the inherent hazards of working within this ministry. A quantitative survey was sent to every officer serving in the Southern Territory to understand their felt needs. The research showed that children, emotional problems, and administrative expectations were at the top felt needs. The results also demonstrated that officers were hesitant to reach out to the administration because of fear of negative consequences. The researcher identified eveidence showing that family of origin is influential in how pastoral leaders repsond to leadership stress in ministry.  A theological review in the Book of genesis revealed family of origin dynamics that influenced the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph.  A literature review resulted in data that showed pastoral leadership to be uniquely stressful and family of origin dynamics to be life shaping.
