The primary objective was to educate couples on eight dimensions of intimacy and measure the impact on satisfaction and commitment. It was hypothesized that after receiving the education, couples would report increases in intimacy, satisfaction, and commitment. A convenience sample of ten couples participated in a twelve week marital enrichment program. Results indicated that participating in the program increased marital satisfaction and strengthened commitment. First, the project examines issues faced by national Guard Chemical soldiers with regard to family reintegration. Second, the project examines Army training doctrine in order to address the reintegration issues. The end goal of the project was to develop a marriage training program that takes place during a retreat format. The retreat would include many of the elements discovered during the research phase. This was a descriptive case study using data from four married military couples. Husbands and wives responded to questionnaires and an interview designed to measure the father's/husband's leadership style and family life satisfaction. Results showed a positive relationship between leadership dimensions and quality of family life. An Army chaplain is challenged to meet family needs in the midst of these difficult circumstances.  This project looks at today's American family both sociologically and theologically.  It then goes on to explain a four-pronged program for military families.
