Seminars and sermons focused weekly on one of eight skills: accepting, need meeting, child rearing, communicating, conflict managing, unity and harmony creating, self-esteem building, and stress coping. An eight-week training seminar, which focused on the development of certain healthy family traits, assisted the families in accomplishing this task.  These training sessions offered times for mutual support and dialogue among the families. The results of the project revealed that only slight growth was realized. Separation of husband from family to work in distant places for economic survival is a most serious situation impacting families in Kenya.  The church has an important role on educating families to survive and reshape society.
