The purpose of the project was to instruct married couples in such a way that they would be encouraged and equipped to improve their prayer life as a couple.  This would be accomplished by writing a manual entitled, Learning to Pray With Your Partner, and using it in a marriage retreat and seminar setting to instruct and encourage couples. Four main studies were included: the study of prayer's impact upon family evangelism; the effectiveness of having a 'family ties' sermon series and a family outreach Sunday; a look at some barriers to rural evangelism; and the effectiveness of specific training in household evangelism through a retreat format. Biblical and practical marital instruction can help strengthen the marriages of the students at Southeastern College who are facing pressures which are threatening their marriages.  Pressures needing attention include communication, role expectations and time management.  Student couples worked to develop biblical and practical material to strengthen their marriages.  The couples' marriages were strengthened but will require more work.  The author and these couples will work with other married student couples to strengthen their
