Four categories of brokenness--divisiveness, arrogance, idolatry, and hardness of heart--gleaned through exegesis of Paul's letters to the Corinthians and the Ephesians are explored.  Five ways of knowing for women--'silence,' as well as 'received,' 'procedural,' 'subjective,' and 'constructivist' knowing--attributed to Mary Belenky and her research group are considered.  The methodology of the praxis circle, including the movements of formation, event, self-interest, theological assumptions, social science assumptions, and new praxis, is employed.  Ten stories based on interviews are presented. Weaving together theologies of erotic power and psychological models of relational selves, the author develops a model of a centering self in mutual relation around themes of agency, empowerment, integrity, embodiment, inner space, boundaries, mutuality and difference.
