The revival methods at the heart of the controversy, along with the question of human ability in salvation, are analyzed from a biblical perspective. The methods of the two most prominent mass evangelists of the last sixty years, Billy Graham and Luis Palau, are also examined. Chapter 2 examined the biblical and theological issues surrounding evangelistic intercession. The life and ministry of Charles Finney was presented in Chapter 3. Chapter 4 provided a detailed account of the implementation of the evangelistic intercessory prayer strategy. The project model develops a method of biblical study that allows the lay person to engage his secular counterpart with the gospel, while at the same time enriching his own theological understanding of the Christian faith.  It results in the creation of a home Bible study that provides the believer with material that engages the unbeliever with the saving claims to Christ.    The project analyzes the biblical teachings of Jesus concerning discipleship as evangelism, studies the influence of Charles G. The study was performed during the period of one Charge Conference year in the Wesley Memorial-Chambersville United Methodist Charge of McKinney, Texas.  In a modern application, Wesleyan theology was contextualized through an understanding of evangelism rooted in the thought of Charles G. Finney.  In this orientation, converted peoople brought about social change. Emphasis on numerical growth was secondary.  Church Growth principles were often
