The project centers around the Church as symbol. The central question is addressed in a practicum which consists of seven two-hour sessions that use the five movements of shared praxis and in thirteen faith development interviews before and after the practicum. The interviews are conducted according to James Fowler's short interview form. The data reveals that there is no faith development change when this model is used. The data does show content accumulation when the model is used."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Perkins School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["9d359def-dc0f-4ac7-a978-8df771bc0984"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126665738321920,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:31:38.545Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:01:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:42:18Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4f9fc7cc-68a2-4a6c-93c6-4abdb82aaca4","accessControl_ssim":["bb43ba35-bd0a-4016-a5af-d9cb5cad1382"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Process and ministry: a developmental model of Christian community"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:01:08Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:28:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2c147b65-03e6-42f4-8147-ac0c42347590"],"hasLease_ssim":["8aa6e1cc-b26f-493b-865f-1cf657970b61"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Pierce Johnson"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James E Symons"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Berger, Peter L, 1929-","Faith development","Whitehead, Alfred North, 1861-1947","Teilhard de Chardin, Pierre, 1881-1955","Communities--Religious aspects","Congregations","Fowler, James W"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project describes the development of a new model of Christian community based upon the theology of Pierre Teilhard de Chardin and Alfred North Whitehead (process thinking); the sociology of Peter Berger (inductive); and current research in faith formation by James Fowler and others (developmental). He integrated the developmental stages of Erik Erikson, James Fowler and the classical order of salvation and developed a grid that can be used descriptively and prescriptively in charting the life development of a congregation. He also added a level entitled faith dynamic which identifies the type of faith experience that becomes the major theme at specific stages of development. The author has formally and informally used the grid both as a pastor and as a consultant. This specific study shows the use of this grid in a large suburban church that had lost much of its vitality and charts its development from 1977 to 1986."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132880072605696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:10:24.996Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:57:43Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:33:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"48b15cf3-98d7-4f67-a35d-631bad356092","accessControl_ssim":["d1d83174-2746-4108-a5ac-bef574a871bb"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Understanding baptism and confirmation in the church today"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:57:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:15:41Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d0a0af17-ec21-440d-a058-eaed826d38e2"],"hasLease_ssim":["26418e94-cf08-4ae1-bfab-e0556d001d0c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Clinton Morrison"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Leslie A Koerselman"],"publisher_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Kohlberg, Lawrence, 1927-1987","Christian education of children","Baptism--History of doctrines","Fowler, James W","Erikson, Erik H.
