Men and women of various ages, occupations, and educational levels were interviewed. They said they wanted to hear the Bible preached and taught as the infallible word of God.  They claimed to now have a heart relationship with the Lord they didn't have before. They found a caring attitude, a warm and loving support community of faith they had not experienced.  They objected to the social-activist position of mainline churches. This historical study, designed to foster understanding and dialogue among evangelicals and non-evangelicals in the local church setting, was taught as a series of classes in the author's church.
