The basis for a twentieth-century hermeneutic is explored through Barth's 'Epistle to the Romans,' in which he posits that the hermeneutical key to Paul's letter is 'krisis.'  Included is an exploration of Charles Gerkin's works on hermeneutics in pastoral care with theological emphasis.  Crises stories from six persons and a biblical story are analyzed in group session by the methods obtained from Gerkin.  The results were that most group members realized a changing of their story that helped find healing."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134940200435712,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:43:09.686Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:41:52Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:45:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f09df194-9eb8-4c19-b742-e5716138cc07","accessControl_ssim":["9dda9eb3-c822-412a-b055-f71f18936316"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Pastoral care in a hermeneutical/narrative style"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:41:51Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:00:03Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["77fbe5b2-81b4-4dbe-a383-8054517b35a6"],"hasLease_ssim":["47d2aa40-bda5-445b-bd24-1e6c6f302b93"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Candler School of Theology"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Henry D Watson"],"publisher_tesim":["Candler School of Theology of Emory University"],"subject_tesim":["Capps, Donald","Winquist, Charles E, 1944-2002","Thurneysen, Eduard, 1888-1974","Case method","Rogers, Carl R (Carl Ransom), 1902-1987","Gerkin, Charles V","Pastoral theology"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project is a description, comparison, and contrast of three methods of pastoral care. It was based on the writings of Gerkin, McDargh, Crossan, and Malan.  The thrust of the theory was the formation of a context out of which idolatrous myths could be identified, examined, and addressed in the therapeutic relationship to discern the consequences that might exist between those idolatrous myths and the problems in the life of the client.  A case study was the second part of the project.  The problems the client brought to the therapy were reality-tested within the working theory base and traced to their sources in the family of origin.  The evaluation involved verbatim accounts of the client growth at the termination of the therapy based on criteria set forth within the theory base."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Boston University"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2d58bd09-76d0-4970-b257-d55229e0173e"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799717339202060288,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:16:43.188Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Resource Type"},{"name":"creator_sim","items":[{"value":"Garrett L Rauwerda","hits":1,"label":"Garrett L Rauwerda"},{"value":"Gene M Williams","hits":1,"label":"Gene M Williams"},{"value":"Henry D Watson","hits":1,"label":"Henry D Watson"}],"label":"Creator Sim"},{"name":"contributor_sim","items":[],"label":"Contributor"},{"name":"keyword_sim","items":[{"value":"Crisis (Psychology)","hits":1,"label":"Crisis (Psychology)"}],"label":"Keyword"},{"name":"subject_sim","items":[{"value":"Gerkin, Charles V","hits":3,"label":"Gerkin, Charles V"},{"value":"Case method","hits":2,"label":"Case method"},{"value":"Pastoral theology","hits":2,"label":"Pastoral theology"},{"value":"Barth, Karl, 1886-1968","hits":1,"label":"Barth, Karl, 1886-1968"},{"value":"Bible--Criticism, interpretation","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Criticism, interpretation"},{"value":"Bible--Theology","hits":1,"label":"Bible--Theology"}],"label":"Subject"},{"name":"location_sim","items":[],"label":"Location"},{"name":"language_sim","items":[{"value":"English","hits":3,"label":"English"}],"label":"Language"},{"name":"publisher_sim","items":[{"value":"Candler School of Theology of Emory University","hits":2,"label":"Candler School of Theology of Emory University"},{"value":"Boston University School of Theology","hits":1,"label":"Boston University School of Theology"}],"label":"Publisher"},{"name":"date_created_sim","items":[],"label":"Date Created"},{"name":"types_sim","items":[{"value":"Text","hits":3,"label":"Text"}],"label":"Type"},{"name":"year_sim","items":[{"value":"1985","hits":1,"label":"1985"},{"value":"1988","hits":1,"label":"1988"},{"value":"1990","hits":1,"label":"1990"}],"label":"Year"},{"name":"format_sim","items":[],"label":"Format"},{"name":"member_of_collections_ssim","items":[{"value":"Candler School of Theology","hits":2,"label":"Candler School of Theology"},{"value":"Boston University","hits":1,"label":"Boston University"}],"label":"Collections"},{"name":"degree_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"}],"label":"Degree"},{"name":"discipline_sim","items":[],"label":"Discipline"},{"name":"degree_granting_institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Candler School of Theology","hits":2,"label":"Candler School of Theology"},{"value":"Boston University","hits":1,"label":"Boston University"}],"label":"Degree Granting Institution"},{"name":"department_sim","items":[],"label":"Department"},{"name":"funder_name_sim","items":[],"label":"Funder Name"},{"name":"event_title_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Title"},{"name":"event_date_sim","items":[],"label":"Event Date"},{"name":"institution_sim","items":[{"value":"Atla RIM","hits":3,"label":"Atla RIM"}],"label":"Host Institution"}],"pages":{"current_page":1,"next_page":null,"prev_page":null,"total_pages":1,"limit_value":10,"offset_value":0,"total_count":3,"first_page?":true,"last_page?":true}}}
