The result of this project was a workshop that taught the Lord's Prayer as the scriptural basis, the prayer of the heart as the meditative process model, and journaling as an evaluative method.  The project was carried out in a prayer workshop in the First Baptist Church of Okeene, Oklahoma in February, 1984.  The workshop setting allowed a free interchange of ideas and dealt with the needs of the individual participants. Since this prediction is rapidly becoming a reality, the author shows the viability of this ministry. He researched the theological/biblical basis, the historical background, and the lives and ministries of ten bivocational and five full-time pastors in order to understand this ministry.  Information gathered was used to develop a workshop manual in the areas of time management, pastoral counseling and educational opportunities. It attempts to interpret selected concepts from communications system theory and neuro-linguistic programming which are applied within the context of such church functions as administration, pastoral care, preaching, and problem resolution.  Forty-four church persons were involved in this field testing, through eight workshops in Rhode Island and New York.  Prior to each session each participant read that part of the manual which was to be considered and applied the concepts in the manual through discussion and the playing of focused communicational games at the end of each chapter. Throughout the project report informal observations have been made relative to the field testing process, and the relevance of that process to communication in the church.
