In order to understand what was taking place he proposed the following research topic: Why do Mexican-American Lutherans in Corpus Christi seek the help of curanderos/curanderas?  The study includes three interviews with healers and five church member case studies. The author outlines a game-plan utilized by Satan in which he uses culture as a means of keeping people from Christ.
