Quantitative and qualitative pre-tests and post-tests were designed to assess knowledge related to the wellness lifestyles of the African American women participants. The project revealed what the women learned and comprehended about God's health and fitness plan that balanced wellness components for the whole person. Writing self-consciously from an embodied perspective of disability, the author--who has used a wheelchair for 20 years--demonstrates how Scripture presents, represents, explains, and interprets disabilities. Exegesis of New Testament teachings and miracles concludes that spiritual healing is a proper subject for education.  The curriculum contains 13 two-hour lessons making substantial use of current theories of behavior affecting physical and mental health, integrated with biblical and theological insights.
