The project applied hermeneutical phenomenology strategy to data gathered from interviews with participants, identifying six hope themes: absolute, promise, inner-voice, well-spring, diminished-future, new-us. It was grounded in the Genesis pericope in which Jacob wrestled with the ish at the Jabbok, which set cardiac crisis in the context of a life-and-death confrontation. Evaluation utilized a 'purpose in life' test given to a treatment group after participating in rehabilitation using pastoral intervention, and to a control group who had not experienced cardiac crisis. Chapter 1 discussed background information and research methodology. Chapter 2 presented a theological consideation of heart in biblical thought; cardiac pastoral care was explored. Chapter 3 examined the program design; the process of invitation, challenges, goals, preparation, testing documents and consultants were analyzed.  Chapter 4 presented the program as implemented.  The conference results revealed enhancement of pastoral care.
