Hispanics city dwellers were surveyed, English as a second language teachers were trained in surveying and action-reflection.  Hispanic residents were surveyed as to their primary language, education levels, occupations in their native country and in USA. Teachers participated in an action-reflection process as they interacted with Hispanic students and residents. There are several reasons why a pastor might embark upon such an endeavor.  The fastest growing ethnic population in the Southwest is Hispanic.  Large numbers of middle class Hispanics are, for all practical purposes, unchurched. These are but two of them and they are compelling.  The paper explores four areas of Anglo-Hispanic relations relative to the mainline Protestant church: Anglo-Hispanic relations in the American Southwest; how some congregations have been able to make themselves attractive to Hispanics so the Hispanics would take membership in their congregations; a 'how to' pamphlet telling interested pastors what steps to take to integrate their congregations; and, reflections on the theological implications of such evangelism. The faithful preaching of a theology of the cross communicates God's saving grace for all.  This study underscores the reality that Scripture is read and interpreted on the basis of lived experiences both as individuals and as persons in community. The purpose was to attract students that would not consider a traditional education program and offer them a highly contextualized, intensive training opportunity.  In preparing the model, the supervising committee drew upon the expertise of its members and a survey of similar training programs. The retreat was implemented in July 1987 with sixteen students.  Subjective and objective analysis produced excellent results. This project is designed to create awareness of methods and resources available in the field of personal and mass evangelism and to include spiritual preparation. The project also addresses the issue of leadership training. A core of strategy advisors were trained and they will serve as consultants to other churches and their associations. A training program in public evangelism was designed and implemented for a selected group of lay members of the Central Hispanic Seventh-day Adventist Church of Milwaukee.  They received theoretical and practical instruction during a seven-week evangelistic campaign. The study concludes that the Latin American theology of liberation should be modified and used by Hispanic churches for ministry in the United
