A subsequent purpose was to present those findings to the Department of Local Church Education of the Wesleyan Church for practical consideration and utilization.  The primary purpose was accomplished through research in records and publications preserved in the denominational archives. The subsequent purpose was accomplished in a seminar presentation to the department. Six monologue/sermons were written and presented for worship and to other church groups.  The goal was to present Peck historically and spiritually within the context of marginal personality. Each presentation was video-taped and critiqued by lay and clergy groups.  This genre revealed dramatic limitations which led to the writing of a seventh, much longer drama which added a narrator and bit parts. These liturgies, for use in Sunday worship, are not a funeral or wedding as such, but attend to the emotional and spiritual issues inherent in those transitions.  A brief liturgy of support for grieving families was also developed.
