An unscientific survey was used to discover the general knowledge of the importance of theology, the legitimacy of creeds and confessions, and the Westminster Confession itself. Constructive criticisms were given as to style, choice of words, and theological content. The project achieved its primary purpose, which was to expose laymen to the Westminster Confession and Reformed theology."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130789399756800,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:37:11.175Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T06:33:26Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:31:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"033272da-2911-434f-83c3-9c28dd73c922","accessControl_ssim":["5db03c97-dbba-42e6-aa35-ed9f8dd46f3e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Universalizing Unitarian Universalism: our pietist roots and future renewal"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T06:33:25Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:12:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1fdfbabe-e070-4989-9047-e200d29cfc01"],"hasLease_ssim":["5b6e7c4f-eb71-427c-86da-d7e2266431b8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"advisor_tesim":["Helmut T Lehmann"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John Crossley Morgan"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Unitarian"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia"],"subject_tesim":["History","Universalism","Pietism","Theology","Unitarian Universalist Association"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project proposes to 'universalize' Unitarian Universalism with a reformation derived from the Pietist themes of the Universalist founders. Unitarian Universalism has been dominated by an Enlightenment faith emphasizing reason, the scientific method, and humanism, but that emphasis has more recently been greatly diminished because it fails to address the full spiritual needs of people--heart as well as head, communal as well as individual, theological as well as anthropological. The spiritual ferment already beginning among Unitarian Universalists seeks fuller spirituality, religious experience, deeper understanding of the roots of the tradition, and religious community--expressions that early Universalism and contemporary seekers hold in common."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714496628916224,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:31:32.298Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:49:27Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:32:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"0161b644-bd11-4479-9622-554611539bce","accessControl_ssim":["adc68bfd-f68b-4d91-8dbc-490ceca934e3"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A narrative history of Black Episcopal churches in the diocese of Texas"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:49:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:09:28Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4a5f556e-e28c-4143-b543-fef510737387"],"hasLease_ssim":["ef751d62-52d2-43a1-b7d2-c9999caf9e96"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["University of the South"],"advisor_tesim":["Philip L Culbertson"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Robert J Moore"],"publisher_tesim":["University of the South School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["History","African American Episcopalians","Parishes","Episcopal Church. Eight Black Episcopal congregations in the Diocese of Texas were engaged in tracing their history on three levels: historical timelines, historical documents and photographs, and narrative histories as recorded in interviews. The timelines, historical documents, and pictures offer an historical context for understanding these eight Black Episcopal churches.
