Samuel I","Expository preaching","Holy Spirit--Biblical teaching","Bible--Criticism, interpretation","Spirits--Biblical teaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation argues that the proper understanding of truths regarding the Holy Spirit contained in selected 'spirit' passages in 1 Samuel is helpful for accurate preaching of the doctrine of the Holy Spirit. The 'spirit' passages were selected by recognizing the literacy device of leitwart in the narrative text of 1 Samuel 10:1-16, 11:5-7, 16:1-23, 18:10-16, and 19:8-2. A sample of pneumatological preaching throughout history are analyzed. Relevant pneumatology is also discussed.
