The project focus was to develop a collaborative model on how to educate the community on the illnesses and symptoms associated with homelessness when internal church conflicts erupt. The mixed methodology was used to obtain the results through pre-test, post-test, questionnaires, personal interviews, and a focus group. The findings suggested that most participants did respond to being educated on the illnesses associated with homelessness. The author facilitated a university tutorial by which he and students confronted the homeless problem in Connecticut through individuals directly affected by and involved with it.  By confronting their fears and prejudices toward homeless people and discovering the similarities they shared, students were able to explore ways they and the church may overcome social barriers to become effective tools of change.
