Six individuals and the researcher used the methodology of action research to collect and analyze the data. The data were gathered through written journal logs and group interviews. This study showed that hospitality is an inclusive practice. Secondly, there are four reasons why we should practice hospitality: hospitality creates a space for evangelism, is worship, is a spiritual dynamic, and is a practice that needs to be recovered. Yet, despite its central location in the Bible's life and praxis, it remains in many churches today undervalued or ignored in the discipleship process. This thesis explores the implications of biblical hospitality and centers theme within a local church's discipleship process. The goal is to change participants' perspectives on their own role as hospitable disciples participating in the Great Commission. The method of research included comparing pre- and post-survey data.
