However, household worship is often absent from contemporary Christian culture in America. This thesis made a case for the effect and benefit of household worship on the spiritual well-being of those who practice it. Twenty-six people representing eighteen households led household worship for eight weeks. Leaders in each household met together for instruction and support. These leaders took the Spiritual Well-being Scale before and after implementing household worship. Congregations which understand themselves as 'households of God' support different family systems encouraging women to be full participants in societal, professional and personal needs, etc.  A 'household of God' practices equality because God abides equally in them. Research was based on a congregation-sponsored day care which closed during the study time.
