Thirty-eight out of 125 massage therapists returned a questionnaire which concerned their practice of massage, the use of prayer, and their spirituality.  A workshop on massage, body theology, and anatomy was conducted within a Lutheran church.  Theological issues concerning the interpretation of the flesh need to be dealt with in order to feel comfortable having a hands-on experience. Process thought and personal experience become the tools to affirm the sacredness of the human body as a holy, valuing presence.  This ministerial project includes an initial workshop designed to enhance individuals' appreciation of their biological, psychological and religious aspects in relation to their total environment.  One instrument assesses body appreciation before the workshop, another afterwards. Although no change can be demonstrated, a high degree of participant satisfaction emerges.  The document details both theology and methods.
