In the process of this growth, a change takes place in the person's image of God.  The methodology incorporated a modified case study in which a six-item questionnaire and follow-up interview were used with selected subjects.  The population selected for sampling consisted of sixty women who had the experience of spiritual direction for at least one year.  From these sixty subjects, four were chosen for a face-to-face taped interview.  Portions of each interview are incorporated in the study.
