Yet they know little or nothing at all about the beliefs and practices of each other.  Both claim to embody a universal message intended by God for the salvation of humankind.  How do both diagnose the human situation? What is the saving work of God that both believe and proclaim would change the human situation and restore authentic humanity?  What do they have in common? How do they differ?  The purpose of this project has been to explore possible answers to these key questions and to do pastoral reflection on such answers. The thesis seeks to develop an appropriate understanding of the saving work of God in both religious communities and proposes dialogue as a way to share theological insights. The project provides the script of full-length play entitled The Dervish, a study guide, and chapters developing the author's approach to dialogue referred to as 'a dialogue of witness.'  A section devoted to evaluation measures the effectiveness of the project.
