The purpose of using these narratives was to tear down stereotypes of the Jewish people by allowing Christians to enter and explore the life experiences of Jews. A standard library research method established the theoretical support for this approach. The study included a group experiment which involved seven Christians from varied social backgrounds. Group testing was conducted at the beginning and end of the experiment using the A-S Scale found in The Authoritarian Personality by Adorno et al (1950). The group read five works of Jewish literature. Each member kept a reading log of personal responses to the literature and participated in group discussions. The results showed little change for the group as a whole. Individually, there were changes of both increased anti-Semitism and decreased anti-Semitism. The reading logs revealed that the participants struggled over their thoughts about the Jews. Frankly, one cannot truly assess the results adequately because the time was inadequate."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131150048034816,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:42:55.116Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:12:17Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:16:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d2b2f8dc-0f03-46aa-9612-ccc3079b5bb0","accessControl_ssim":["976c4b30-0bf5-4166-8a2c-dcce061f9263"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Care of Arabic Muslims experiencing hospitalisation in Australia"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:12:16Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:09:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3ed7f453-daa1-4d3d-bdc2-19b9b29ae240"],"hasLease_ssim":["2e04206e-23ed-439f-937d-fb9286949822"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Neville P Anderson"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"location_tesim":["Australia"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Neville A Kirkwood"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Chaplains, Hospital","Pastoral theology","Arabs","Interfaith relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The project aimed to prepare guidelines for the care of hospitalised Arab Muslims. Modalities are outlined which reverse the process of losing trust and which enable persons to accept their relational responsibilities vis-à-vis others and the inherited legacy. The process and the evaluation were co-facilitated by both worship leaders. results indicate potential for application to interfaith work with Jewish and Christian congregations."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129134560182272,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:10:52.997Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:55:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:41:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f57d6ee3-4f38-4b23-8265-493f54f2f42c","accessControl_ssim":["43f8007c-41b1-4955-af3e-25cd9b08872d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["[A transferable process model for Jewish-Christian dialogue]"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:55:01Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:08:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0962fab5-e0af-4bf6-bc63-3d1d0acd37b4"],"hasLease_ssim":["6e023d0e-1fea-4aac-9e90-1b2117a8090b"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Toronto School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Jean-Marc Laporte"],"year_tesim":["2001"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["James T Christie"],"publisher_tesim":["Toronto School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Judaism","Interfaith relations","Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["On a foundation of contextual historical research, theological and biblical reflection, this thesis explored through ethnographic, focus-group qualitative research, the experience of dialogue between a group of Christians and Jews, and offers a transferable process model."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131040085966848,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:41:10.248Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:11:39Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:42:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6f8c34ca-ce12-474b-abba-7a6673229a1c","accessControl_ssim":["f4a5cb32-7587-405c-a182-298aaa7d0f7e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Designing, teaching, and evaluating a course on Christianity and world view at African Bible College, Lilongwe, Malawi"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T19:11:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:24:01Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["b81e6495-1c7a-4748-9b2c-c08ac16bcc7c"],"hasLease_ssim":["1c48c627-ad12-4154-b323-375b551f21e6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"advisor_tesim":["Paul G Hiebert"],"year_tesim":["1999"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brown, Walter L."],"keyword_tesim":["World view"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School of Trinity International University"],"subject_tesim":["Africans--Religion","African Bible College (Lilongwe, Malawi)","Christianity","Interfaith relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This is a project deigned to teach world view issues to students at African Bible College. It compares the biblical, the American, and the Malawian world views. The project is divided into seven chapters and four appendices. Chapter one is an introductory chapter. Chapter two is the literature review. It describes world view literature in general, African world view, and Western world view. Chapter three deals with biblical world view literature. It includes contributions from various Christian writers, and their perspectives show the contrast between the biblical ideal and the reality of Western norms. Chapter four gives the historical, theological, and sociological background. Chapter five outlines the methodology. It discusses expected outcomes and the avenues to getting there. Chapter six, dealing with findings, is based upon the evaluation done by the students at the end of the course. The appendices include lesson plans for each day, the exams, and the evaluation sheet. Lesson plans include the discussion questions which provided structure to classroom discussion."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718947662069760,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:42:17.135Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":61,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
