The author uses the West African oral traditions of storytelling as practiced by the West African griot to develop the images of pastor/griot and the preacher/griot. Using these images and the Emmaus Road story found in Luke 24:13-35, the author develops the Emmaus Road model for pastoral care and the formation of the funeral sermon. Government policies in some states in northern Nigeria are tilted to favor Muslims. The enforcement of the sharia legal system in twelve northern states in Nigeria has marginalized the Christians and made the mission and evangelism of the Church difficult. The innovation by the Wusasa Diocese to reach out using techniques like personal evangelism, discipleship, dialogue, education and poverty alleviation programmes are yielding results. Muslims are coming to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Dialogue has helped to minimize violence and has promoted mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims. It looks at the history of Christian witness to Muslims and suggests that relational and contextually sensitive approaches be employed in the presentation of biblical truths. An evangelistic Bible study written to reach literate Afghan Muslims, called The Unfolding Story, serves as the core of the project. It employs a whole Bible approach providing lessons from creation to Pentecost. Lessons progress chronologically through salvation themes, in particular sacrifice motifs from the Old Testament, culminating in the substitutionary death of Christ on the Cross. The problem of sin is especially highlighted as are the attempts to overcome sin by one's own efforts. Throughout the study, storytelling and guided discussion in a one-on-one encounter with an Afghan seeker has been employed. I want to share salvation of Jesus to those who live in the northwest of China. The reasons of my focus on the northwest of China are as follows. First of all, the northwest is the poorest area in China. Secondly, the people's lives of this area are in a spiritual meaninglessness and seem to be much influenced by Islam. I expect that Christians can build a Bible training center there as soon as possible. Hopefully, hundreds, even thousands, of trainees may be molded as missionaries from this center and they can share Jesus' love and grace to others. This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction. Chapter two emphasizes the strategy of Jesus Christ's ministry in the area of Palestine. Chapter three introduces the northwest region of China including descriptions of geography, resources, populations, and religious condition. Chapter four presents the evangelism strategy for the northwest area of China. Chapter five concludes that in the next fifteen years, one hundred missionaries will be equipped and sent to the vast northwest area of China."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Logos Evangelical Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["54e7729a-4915-469f-8fd5-c7bb7ccd6c20"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134461980573696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:35:33.621Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:28:02Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:19:19Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c9878f1e-f4fd-4229-be5d-0106062bf9ac","accessControl_ssim":["19299863-aa6d-4ab0-a334-b143b1e8d98c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Recovery of a Biblical worldview in a postmodern context informed by the Hebrew Scriptures as enhanced by graced interaction between gentile and Messianic Jewish Faith communities"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:28:02Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:55:07Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["63500d97-9513-45df-acf7-7687ed14bfd1"],"hasLease_ssim":["5c6dc1fa-dc00-47a7-9a5e-9cb9b944c55d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry (Ambridge, PA)"],"advisor_tesim":["Jerry Smith"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Nicholas A Marziani"],"publisher_tesim":["Trinity Episcopal School for Ministry"],"subject_tesim":["Messianic Judaism","Judaism","Interfaith relations","Christianity","Bible--Study"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study investigates focused and intentional interaction between Gentile and Messianic Jewish believers on the ability of Gentile Christians to appropriate and apply Hebrew biblical canon.
