The author examined the literature on shamanism and studied the theological literature on contextualization. Through this study, the author recognizes that shamanism has affected the spread of Christianity by providing it with points of contact, but the similarities between shamanism and Christianity may distort the essence of Christianity if there are no sincere efforts of contextualization of the gospel in the Korean shamanistic culture."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["38714359-d032-4ed0-ae3f-cb82c8f65a92"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791125176709021696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:07:58.496Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:49:27Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:01:38Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"100439e2-f5d1-4968-810a-eedaab6f8be5","accessControl_ssim":["803f97ec-589f-4dab-943e-85be3d90ef68"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Introducing Christianity to non-Christians in Taiwan"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:49:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:34:43Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1cf94c06-c3a2-4a79-8f89-d812ab5fd2ac"],"hasLease_ssim":["c35632f5-8ab0-4470-b0db-2ad1171d4f62"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["University of the South"],"advisor_tesim":["Peyton Craighill"],"year_tesim":["1993"],"location_tesim":["Taiwan"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Charles C Chen"],"keyword_tesim":["Christianity and Eastern religions"],"publisher_tesim":["University of the South School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Evangelistic work","Christianity","Interfaith relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This evangelistic project, originally written in Chinese, introduces Christianity from the perspective of Chinese culture. It is a comprehensive approach based on lay participation. Research involved cross-cultural models for church renewal and growth, contexual factors, and demographic studies. The manual will enable a church to find renewal inwardly and expand on biblical principles as a natural result. The manual is designed for the church in an Islamic society."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715482879655936,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:47:12.861Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:50:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:49:32Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5c59418f-482f-4bc5-b9b8-8315b2497291","accessControl_ssim":["c1cbcbf8-91f6-4a2b-a211-24cf93b45cc0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Solitude as a door to disclosure and empowerment: the planning of solitude periods for western New York Presbyterians"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:50:38Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:50:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["9563d81e-eda8-4758-a9ed-8ee232870aec"],"hasLease_ssim":["a77c34f2-a63d-4773-97fa-2e2223e76136"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Joan Wagner"],"year_tesim":["1990"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David G Persons"],"keyword_tesim":["Christianity and Eastern religions"],"publisher_tesim":["San Francisco Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Silence","Presbyterian churches","Christianity","Interfaith relations"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study was focused on an understanding of silence that could relate to busy members of mainline Protestant churches.
