The project attempted to enhance the spiritual well-being and psychosocial integration of the elderly through two sets of biweekly meetings: one of life histories, personal experience, and issues of faith; and one of a supervisory nature as a peer support, sharing, and learning group. During these years, first-generation Koreans worked toward better socio-economic positions and lifestyles.  However, while these parents were working hard, their children grew up without much love or interest from the parents.  Two different lifestyles of the first and second generations were starting to make a wall between them.  This wall manifested itself at home and at church as separation of these two groups.  The difference in language, culture and values further separated these two groups.  The church is given the task of reconciling and restoring first and second generations' relationship and treating their wounds. The writer has begun a retreat program that can allow second-generation children to discover a new identity, and Korean language school that can improve their relationship by better understanding each other. Phenomenological and qualitative research methodology formed the framework of study, guided by perspectives of grounded research and symbolic interactionism.  Results identify principles for the development of this intergenerational group. This project develops a model for religious education based on the basic Christian community.  Eleven intergenerational communities in a suburban parish are given an inductive curriculum that enables them to share faith within a setting that supports faith-filled living. Leadership training and liturgical and social celebrations are an integral part of the process.
