A quantitative, descriptive method of research using a mailed questionnaire was employed.  Many differences were found. A historical, biblical and theological study of the doctrine of the image of God was conducted in order to undergird the concept of human worth as taught in Purkey's model.  The social and psychological foundations for the invitational model are also investigated.  A control group and an experimental group each consisting of twenty people were selected from the church.  The experimental group was taught Purkey's model.  Pre/post-tests were given to each group.  The post-test revealed that the experimental group had become more inviting.
