Participants took a mission trip to visit a rural church school in Haiti and were then interviewed about their experience. Family systems theory and the theology of service and relationships informed the project and the interpretation of the outcomes. New, lasting interpersonal bonds among the travelers were evident, as were strengthened ties to the sister institutions. This project used fourteen postmodern people in four critical events to expose them to biblical conflict reconciliation ministry. The following themes were used: relationships, communication, conflict, and reconciliation. The participants were interviewed and tested using a variety of research tools. The project director conducted a literature research exploring the historical, cultural, and theological roots of deaf Americans and the causes of relational distance between deaf and hearing congregants. The project director provided cultural and relational training for selected participants and then volunteers developed relationships with members of the opposite culture. Data collected from a quantitative survey of pre- and post- statements explored relational attitudes concerning personal views within deaf/hearing relationships. Survey results indicated constructive relational training drew congregants together."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Beeson Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["15a18942-6151-49a8-8979-cd138c6b47cc"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127709821173760,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:48:14.260Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:13:00Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:54:57Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4b55ccd3-793d-4977-9669-0831c293e556","accessControl_ssim":["8563ab74-ea80-4312-a8c1-9496740c92c1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The effectiveness of interpersonal relationship groups for improving communication skills among parishioners in United States Air Force chaplaincy ministries"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T12:12:59Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:20:34Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0f199ffa-77aa-40a2-8ccf-a6aa26002418"],"hasLease_ssim":["4f0b56ac-2fb0-483e-9516-8b00f48408c2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Oblate School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Robin M Wright"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Michael C Doan"],"publisher_tesim":["Oblate School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations","United States. The thesis was applied to a young married couple with the use of the Taylor Johnson Temperament Analysis, The Personality Self-Portrait by Multi-Health Systems, and the Prepare/Enrich Inventory assessment tools. As a result of this group, the author has spent the last twenty-five years studying about and leading small groups. She has a passion for training and encouraging individuals and churches in designing, leading, and maintaining healthy small group communities where, by God's grace, life-change can happen. What constitutes a healthy small group? In what way does authentic Christian community contribute to spiritual renewal and life-transformation? The author has attempted to give voice to the necessary ingredients that answer these concerns. The eight chapters include essential components of healthy group process, conclude with an appropriate Bible study, and challenge individuals to lead with excellence."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132464270278656,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:03:48.456Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":149,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
