For the children and youth there were Sunday school classes, seminars, Muslim guests, and a children's sermon on symbols of Islam, Judaism, and Christianity. Adults learned through classes, panel discussions, seminars, book groups and guests.  All ages studied the basic tenets of Islam. Similarities and dissimilarities between Islam and Christianity were explored. The primary method of study for this project was that of reflective participant-observer augmented by an extensive literature review in the areas of adult education, curriculum development, corrections, prison chaplaincy, Al-Islam Islamic education, the nation of Islam, and African-American Muslims.
