The purpose was to improve my cross-cultural itinerant ministry in the three areas of preparing for, administering, and sustaining an itinerant ministry. Using action research, data was collected from interviews with twelve experienced itinerant ministers and mined to derive their best practices. As the research subject, I then applied these identified practices to my itinerant ministry. A preacher needs to be grounded in the following three areas to preach God's living Word effectively: knowledge of scripture, a holistic spirituality, and love for the local community. The theme of resurrection is explored from the vantage-point of those who first encountered it, Jesus' disciples and the early Christian communities, and then from the perspective of twentieth century liberation theology.  Knowing a community in which an itinerant preaches is resurrection preaching. The research attempted to seek out the utilization of certain formative spiritual disciplines which have been historically used by men and women of the church.  This research also sought to identify what other, if any, spiritual disciplines and/or habits are being used today as a methodology for spiritual formation.  The study sought also, to evaluate those findings in light of the biblical call to renewal and the use and practice of those disciplines, in varying degrees, by John Wesley, a significant theological mentor of the men and women serving in ministry in the Church of the Nazarene. The study was guided by three research questions: 1) What are the methods of personal spiritual renewal being utilized today by itinerant evangelists in the Church of the Nazarene? 2) Are these factors which influence the methods that are being used? 3) In what ways are current formative practices among itinerant ministers in the Church of the Nazarene, USA, congruent or incongruent with a biblical view of personal spiritual renewal among ministers and with the historical Christian tradition?  The research considered several variables to ascertain their influence on the current practices of spiritual formation among itinerant evangelists.  Those variables were tenure, age, gender, itinerant evangelism as means of support, number of revival meetings held annually, certification, spouse or teammate accompanied travel, educational training. This author used surveys and individual interviews with A. M. E. pastors to assess the reassignment process.  The findings indicated that the absence of communication before reassignment had the emotional effect associated with loss, diminishing Itinerant Elder authority in ministry and their role as a partner in the vision for the church.  The outcome demonstrated that faithful partnership and dialogue can mitigate the emotional effect of this
