First, the author proved that the Christocentric hermeneutic was passed down from Jesus and the Apostles directly down to the modern day preacher. Second, the author walked through selected texts from different genres of the OT to in order to buttress his thesis. The results of the project were successful. In the first section, the case for a Christ centered meta-narrative running through all of the scriptures is reviewed. Maintaining a Christ centered preaching focus keeps the primary agenda of the scriptures before the congregation. In the second section, the case for practical application is reviewed, with special attention given to application as a response to the Christ centered focus of a passage. After presenting the goals and congregational setting for the project, the nature of Old Testament narrative literature and its significance for biblical interpretation are evaluated. Hermeneutical and homiletical principles for treating Old Testament narrative christotelically are drawn from significant exegetes and theologians.
