Blessing is choosing life as God's beloved.  God loves life and created us for life. Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life. Listening prayer leads to choosing Jesus and experiencing a way of life so contagious that one overflows with life and blessing to others. Five weeks of daily spiritual blessing exercises are developed and tested by eight participants. Research was conducted on the topics of self-care and burnout. An examination of the Gospels had as a goal finding a model of self-care in Jesus' life. An attempt was made to reconcile the command to 'deny self' and 'to love your neighbor as yourself'. A course involving self-care techniques and examples from the life of Jesus was developed and taught to seventeen laity.
