First, for the church to understand the continuity of the Scriptures in the Old and New Testament through the kingdom theme.  Second, for participants to develop a passion for the kingdom plan of God with an assurance of being involved in a movement that is guaranteed success. Third, to be prepared to defend the unity of the Bible by relating unity to the kingdom.  Six sermons were preached with sermon notes.  Small group material was included. Parabolic interpretation has changed over the centuries with parables no longer viewed as allegory, but now understood as metaphors with extended meaning. In review of the purpose, Jewish source, nature, and language of parables this project examined how contemporary preachers can use Jesus' parables to communicate the message of God's Kingdom. Known as 'Walking in the Kingdom,' the practicum was divided into three phases: inquiry, catechumenal instruction, and mystagogia.  Participants included those who sought baptism, and/or reaffirmation of faith, confirmation, or reception into the Episcopal Church. This series was used to stimulate dialogue, study and response in the local church.  This series, in the context of our centennial celebration, along with the drama 'Our Story' have helped this congregation realize its heritage and identity. The basic idea is that baptism represents a paradigm shift from culture to the Kingdom of God. Addiction is a paradigm -- a world-forming power. Recovery is a paradigm shift also.  There are many similarities between the Kingdom of God and recovery paradigms.  The method is researched from a Wesleyan quadrilateral approach.
