The practicum had two objectives: to discern, through a detailed survey, the contextual factors governing the Christian witness of Korean-Americans; and to develop a method of evangelism which could communicate the gospel to those beyond the church. These were implemented in the local church, Chicago metropolitan area, and as a national youth leadership program.  This project included a nationwide questionnaire survey which identified needs and problems of Korean youth, and is based on study of the transition of biculturalism of Korean immigrants, with special reference to youth-parent relationships.  It is grounded in a 'vision theology' for Korean immigrants that has both theoretical and practical aspects. The project report provides background on the traditional relationship of the pastor with his congregation in the Korean Church; introduces three key goals; and discuses this study's methodologies. The author presents the biblical, theoretical, and historical foundations for cell group ministry considering 'the church' as the koinonia associated with Paul. It also introduces aspects of the cell ministry movement in other locations, such as China, India, Africa, Australia, and Korea. The project discusses the disillusionment within the Korean church community due to changes in traditional religious, political and societal expectations. Chapter one presented background information, definitions, research instruments and a statement of the projects' three goals.  Chapter two was focused on Biblical, theoretical, and literature foundation for conflict.  Chapter three addressed the social and psychological background of Korean immigrant churches, describing the religious background of Korean mentality, politics of Korea, the history of the Baptist church in Korea, and Korean churches in the U.S.  It identified how authority infected pastors and caused conflict in church. Chapter four attempted to equip pastors with conflict resolution skills. Chapter five evaluated the methodology used to find pastors' conflict. A pastor is a primary source of conflict in church. This project examines the biblical and theological foundations of the local church and examines the social and psychological factors necessary when developing new ethnic missions.  These factors were discussed in Chapters 2 and 3. Church planting is a process whereby a church is planted by a local church through a cooperative endeavor of a pastor, members of the local church and the Holy Spirit.  To strategize about church planting, a Mission task Committee, consisting of eight pastors, was organized.  Chapter Four presented a synopsis of seven seminars on various biblical and theoretical principles for church planting. Chapter five evaluated the methodology used in planting ethnic ministries. 'Centering prayer' is a way of praying that encourages one to take a practical step to silently encounter God's presence at the centre of one's being. The original this of this project explored the use of centering prayer as a viable tool to enhance the devotional life of Korean Protestant Christian immigrants in Canada participating in this action-in-ministry. A proactive research method was used in this study. The conclusion of the project is that centering prayer is an effective tool to enhance devotional life.
