Even though Nakwon Methodist Church has born so many fruits within recent years, as a lead pastor of this community, I could not set up a good system for equipping lay ministries and did not nurture lay people for our church mission. This thesis argues that a greater number of youth can be retained if the preachers have a positive ethos with the youth. This thesis analyzes the Armenian evangelical community and outlines reasons for both negative and positive ethos. Through personal experience, interviews and surveys, a clearer picture of the role of the preacher emerges. The research findings reveal that the institutional leadership brought by the early British missionaries to Africa served its purpose at the time. However, as we move into the 21st century, this mode of leadership becomes inadequate for the church and Tidings of Faith. The research revealed that institutional leadership has failed to address all the questions of leadership distance between clergy and laity, that the clergy have been saddled with the work of running almost every aspect of the ministry while the laity almost always become spectators, and there has been no conscious attempt within this ministry to train laity for future leadership continuity. The researcher proposed team leadership as an effective and up-to-date option for Tidings of Faith in the years ahead. A call to action necessitates that the church provide a pathway and an ongoing process for men to become servant-leaders.  The project results were limited, due to a decline in the number of men who completed the project versus those who began the project, but yet encouraging.  Project participants were invited to discover the theology, concepts, and characteristics of servant leadership.  Participants experienced Jesus Christ as the ultimate model of servant leadership and were encouraged to follow His example in daily life, especially the church.  The results revealed that becoming a servant-leader must be an intentional process. In this project, the author proposes that reimagining call and response in preaching as an ongoing sermon conversation advances discipleship in the congregation. The congregation begins the dialogue with the preacher prior to the development of the sermon; participates in traditional call and response during the sermon, and continues the conversation after the sermon is preached. The intent of this dissertation was to better understand visionary leadership, while creating a better comprehension of ways to enhance a pastor's ability to implement this important characteristic of ministry.
