It is the argument of this report that both an academic as well as a formational approach would work best to aid the growth of the resistant student. The data triangulation methodology included surveys, interviews, and audio/videotape recordings. The researcher discovered that, while a majority had an awareness of the congregation's culture and language, only 40% surveyed understood how culture and language applied to their roles as church leaders.
