The project conducted three seminars for church leaders concerning child abuse and its effects, self-esteem among black males, and substance abuse. These mentors were paired with seven first offenders referred by the juvenile court. The project employed four key groups including a Rediscovering Your Spiritual Gifts class, Search Groups in preparation for a 'Weekend of Discovery,' a 'Weekend of Discovery' renewal program, and a Disciple Bible Study.  The project conducted interviews with 34 church members using 21 questions. They learned tools necessary to develop creative liturgies, and used these tools to participate with clergy and staff in planning and carrying out liturgy for corporate worship. The project used a series of theological lessons followed by surveys of the congregation to introduce the team concept to the church, concluding with a small group training seminar.  Spiritual gifts of church members were identified, and these gifts and interests directed formation of ministry teams in the congregation to accomplish specific ministry tasks.
