The project conducts a quantitative and qualitative evaluation with 30 volunteers.  Pre-test and post-test comparisons analyzed significant differences in attitude, knowledge, and behavior in program participants and a control group. The project involved three phases. Phase 1 involved pre-seminar tests and interviews to help determine personal histories.  Phase 2 was the seminar, incorporating the Myers-Briggs instrument.  Phase 3 was course evaluation and participants being re-tested and interviewed. Through a gradual witnessing approach, the gospel message could be better digested by the unchurched person than with a 'one-shot' witnessing approach. An understanding of the three primary meanings for the noun koinonia is presented.  Since koinonia or Christian community is experienced as we share our lives together in groups, several elements of group dynamics are developed, along with related matters of biblical small groups.  Finally, practical issues in starting biblical small groups are discussed. The practicum was developed over a twelve-week period of time.  This is an intensive laity involvement project.  Three committees of twenty lay people from Christ Church Dallas became involved in examining a national corporation whose AIDS program was a benefit to the community, helping HIV/AIDS victims through AIDS Interfaith, Inc, and working directly with an emergency shelter for abused and runaway teenagers. Although the main goal was to develop a theology of social responsibility, the laity and minister became actively committed to a ministry of compassion dealing with local injustices.
