There is also a great need for pastoral leadership; this need seems to be increasing. This author, in an attempt to gain a better understanding of what is needed to lead the church within the presbytery he serves, set out to study the pastoral and leadership styles of five colleagues within the presbytery. This author solicited from each participant the biblical role models, the literature, and the people that have most greatly influenced them as a pastoral leader. The researcher found that a successful leadership succession depends upon a well-planned transition. The research consisted of a case study of four small independent churches. The researcher compared the traditional and apostolic approaches to leadership succession. Through grounded theory and coding of the data, the researcher identified factors that contribute to both the positives and obstacles of a good leadership succession. The study of these verbs enhances spiritual formation and teaching skills of Sunday school leaders. In fact, 2 Timothy has the highest percentage of imperatives in its first half than any other Pauline epistle. The author used traditional research methods. Consequently, a description of the Chinese pastoral leadership role in missions mobilization was constructed, through integrating the findings from interviewing the research participants with a comparative study of some biblical characters in both Old and New Testaments, the teaching of Christ on servant leadership, and the Chinese traditional paradigm of paternal headship.
