The project addresses a recurring ministry and leadership problem: a gap between leaders’ professed moral and spiritual commitments—such as care, dignity, and justice—and the operational practices that shape organizational life, often resulting in relational harm, burnout, and diminished trust. Employing a Practical Theological Method grounded in an iterative praxis cycle, the project engages lived leadership experience, critically reflects on the spiritual traditions of Metta, Agápē, Chesed, and Ubuntu, and integrates interdisciplinary insights from psychology, neuroscience, and organizational studies. The findings reveal that loving-kindness is not a passive or sentimental posture, but rather a disciplined, boundary-honoring leadership ethic that requires clarity, accountability, and just structures. To support implementation, the project offers an original Operating Model incorporating Four Levels of Leadership (Self, Others, Leaders, and Organizations) and seven core Loving-Kindness Leadership Practices. The project demonstrates that when loving-kindness is operationalized, it bridges belief and practice, fostering relational safety, ethical presence, and durable human and organizational flourishing."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/downloads/82d2d638-76dd-4960-8aba-9108b4bef497?file=thumbnail","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_ids_ssim":["82d2d638-76dd-4960-8aba-9108b4bef497"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Doctor of Ministry Dissertations and Projects"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["061a0024-1d62-4dba-b274-091512484660"],"file_set_ids_ssim":["82d2d638-76dd-4960-8aba-9108b4bef497"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["meadville.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["jdechant@meadville.edu"],"_version_":1864449847838375936,"timestamp":"2026-05-06T14:32:14.111Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2026-01-29T15:09:18Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2026-01-29T15:09:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"47fd4e95-1d01-4c58-8637-8fa317b921f7","accessControl_ssim":["e7253cad-895e-43ea-a3f5-42638efea02b"],"depositor_ssim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"title_tesim":["Equipping Selected Pastors of the Baptist Associations of Southeast Louisiana with Leadership Skills to Develop Potential Ministers"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2026-01-29T15:09:18Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2026-01-29T15:09:18Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["bba2ffd9-982b-4e46-a837-813ac4793b36"],"hasLease_ssim":["d62dce93-9a68-4785-8338-2cea5a1f08f1"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["DMin"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Dr. Mark Johnson"],"year_tesim":["2025"],"location_tesim":["Louisiana"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. My Leadership Narrative traces my progression from a challenging polygamous upbringing to pastoral ministry, and from secular leadership in central banking to theological training. This illustrates the transformative power of resilience, faith, and divine intervention. My DMin research project builds on these experiences, my Philosophy of Leadership, and my Context Exegesis. It combines classroom training with practical fieldwork to strengthen the leadership skills, character, and intimacy with God of church planters in the Foursquare Gospel Church of Asokoro, Abuja, Nigeria. Fifteen participants were mentored so they could develop Servant Leadership and Adaptive Leadership skills, which aligned with Jesus’ approach to leadership. A digital questionnaire, the Conceptualizing Leadership Questionnaire (CLQ), and the Spiritual Assessment Inventory (SAI) were used before and after the training to evaluate the participants’ growth in these areas. Before training, 8 participants reported gradual spiritual growth, and 7 indicated substantial growth. After the training, 12 reported substantial spiritual development. The findings affirmed that combining fieldwork with classroom instruction enhanced leadership capacity, personal character, and intimacy with God, shaping both who the leader becomes and what the leader does.\r\n"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["wurantivincent@mytyndale.ca"],"_version_":1845266553634816000,"timestamp":"2025-10-06T20:41:59.125Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-01-16T15:45:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-01-16T15:45:39Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"fc0742ec-d6a9-4f72-ad45-03345fa96d94","accessControl_ssim":["0caa5c8c-a6ea-4c4b-b620-50a464669163"],"depositor_ssim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["kstamant@nobts.edu"],"title_tesim":["Enhancing the Project Director’s Vision-Casting Skills to Increase Congregational Awareness of Missional Focus at First Baptist Church, Locust Grove, Georgia"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-01-16T15:45:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-01-16T15:45:37Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["36decd78-538e-47e4-9cdc-6173d3dd2281"],"hasLease_ssim":["f5ad6bb4-ef38-4f3c-adce-17c0eabd7567"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["D.Min."],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Dr. Jake Roudkovski"],"year_tesim":["2024"],"location_tesim":["Georgia"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. The Lighthouse Foundation is a non-profit ministry initiated by, but separate from the church, The HUB/New Beginnings Ministries in Toronto, Ontario where the researcher is the Associate Pastor. The purpose of the Lighthouse Foundation was specifically designed as an evangelistic opportunity for The HUB to have a presence in the community, and to create relationships with the residents by providing a variety of community-based programs. \r\nThe research portfolio includes chapters on the researcher’s leadership development, philosophy of Christian leadership, and action research project that determined why the Lighthouse Foundation failed to launch. \r\nThe methodology used was evaluative research with selected church members as insider participants. Data collection was in the form of one key informant interview, along with two focus groups consisting of nine participants, which were facilitated by a Tyndale University colleague with predetermined questions. Outcomes of the research landed primarily on three areas: busy lifestyles, the lack of clarity of communication, and the need for training leaders. These findings also helped the researcher to understand that the vision was too unrealistic to achieve without the necessary skill-sets and volunteers needed for a successful project.\r\n"],"license_tesim":["https://creativecommons.org/publicdomain/zero/1.0/"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["pastor.sharon@nbmto.org"],"_version_":1794055738255998976,"timestamp":"2024-03-20T14:27:59.776Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-13T19:28:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:32:14Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"9bc26a86-231b-4f9e-a461-885395ef1e55","accessControl_ssim":["db82b68e-9f80-4a6f-8883-d76ed98a4e2e"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Lay leadership and contemporary worship"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-13T19:28:06Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:41:20Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["7e670461-5961-4926-858d-99cce12f56aa"],"hasLease_ssim":["b25cbb84-f19c-4fbb-a020-14e011ed3bfd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Chicago Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1974"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John E Porter"],"publisher_tesim":["Chicago Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Worship","Laity","Leadership--Religious aspects"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["None"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Chicago Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["2ed862c2-32c4-448b-95c8-4a58c3d74b5b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134256406200320,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:32:17.570Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T20:17:03Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:09:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8adfeb82-eefa-4a56-a350-34a41b5f2484","accessControl_ssim":["64108b07-5136-429e-aff6-17b9f32542a9"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping Selected Adults at Olivet Baptist Church, Paducah, Kentucky, with Team Ministry Leadership Skills"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T20:17:02Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:12:19Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8a3a258b-ec87-418f-b88e-08d5ee792f9a"],"hasLease_ssim":["0f3ea828-efc6-4e17-9ba9-54838737f3f4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Hal Stewart Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2023"],"location_tesim":["Kentucky"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
