This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with seven pastors who had experienced transition within the past five years, entering churches that varied in size and cultural character while being in the same denomination. Intrapersonal intelligence is active self-awareness: the capacity to learn and adapt to the factors of one's own reality. A reflection-in-action (Schön) method evolved built on Argyris' double-loop learning using the work of Bowen, Friedman, and Steinke. The outcome is increased non-anxious ordained leadership capacity through change and development in leadership style and skills. With so much information on leadership in the secular world and in the Christian world, how does the leader discern what to teach other leaders? This study looked specifically at God as leader, Jesus as leader, Moses, David and Paul as leaders. Secondly, the study reviewed the extra-Biblical literature on the topic of leadership. Eight Area Directors were interviewed by the author and asked to discuss what they were teaching in their leadership training times. The results were compiled from these three sources and concluded whether or not the Area Directors were on the right course in teaching Biblical leadership principles. Recommendations were made based on finds. Each generation of church leaders must consider how they will empower the coming generations toward ministry fruitfulness. This study examined the process and intentionality of leadership development in Bible churches in the Greater Houston area. A comparative analysis of Paul's development of Timothy, from 1-2 Timothy, as well as secondary literature, books written the past 10 years, read by Bible church pastor's and face-to-face interviews provided insights for this researcher to aid pastors in their development of leaders. The theme of the retreat was based on the biblical leadership of Moses and Joshua. The author conducted surveys before and after the retreat among thirty Korean Americans.
