The study combines insights from political theology and political systems theory and establishes through questionnaire method that the missionaries are ambivalent about the use of violence as an instrument of change in the social process. Biblical materials in the study highlight God's solidarity with the poor and oppressed. Its central thesis is that the black church must fully embrace female participation in ministry if it is to be true to the liberating gospel it claims as part of its heritage.  A combination of historical and theological approaches, theory, and observation techniques constitute the methodology for this study. Reading the 'signs of the times,' recent theological works, and Roman Catholic church documents, a shift in responsibility for ministry from the sole domain of the ordained to all the baptized is indicated.  Inspired by liberation theology, this candidate builds a theological perspective and describes the design of a formation for ministry program.
